What is formal recruitment?
Formal recruitment occurs during the Spring semester. You must register with the Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC) in order to participate in formal recruitment. More information on registration can be found here.
What is informal recruitment?
Informal recruitment occurs after formal recruitment and in the fall semester for non-freshmen, outside of the formal GW recruitment process.
I'm a freshman. Why can't I rush in the fall?
GW regulations prohibit freshmen from rushing greek life in the fall. You should instead register for formal recruitment in early January.
Where would I live as a Sigma Chi?
Epsilon has both an off-campus house located at 2156 F St, NW and a GW-owned townhouse in Townhouse Row (607A 23rd St, NW). Housing selection is based on the order of initiation but most brothers have the opportunity to live in the house if they choose.
